Crowdfunder launches!

27 Days and counting….

Observer Building Crowdfunder video

We have just launched our Crowdfunder with incredibly generous gifts on offer from local artists, artisans and creatives. With the support of the wider community we hope to raise at least £10,000 to get started with immediate works.

Our thanks to Paul Hamlyn Award winner St Leonards-based artist Becky Beasley; local hairdresser James Nash of Yard + Quarter; Rock House tenants video whizz-kid Adam Clements, creator of our Crowdfunder video and portrait photographer Cathy Teesdale; the guys behind Tommy’s Pizza and unique reclaimed wood specialists, Harbor.

Thank you to everyone who makes a donation of whatever they can. Your generosity will help us get closer to bringing the Observer Building back to sustainable, productive use for our community for years to come.

REWARDS

We have a varied collection of awesome in-kind donations from local partners and supporters offering unique, and some money can’t buy, rewards for your donations. Thank you to all of them for their generosity and support

In her own words:

“We are seeing more creative community regeneration where a sense of place is created and real estate and money follows. What’s exciting about having Jess working in town is that she seeks to protect primary wonderful buildings from external development and ultimately elevated prices. Jess isn’t all about red tape – she wants to world build and I’m interested in world-builders. Its awe-inspiring to be living in a town where this community asset work is happening in these tough times. It will have a huge effect on the future landscape here. It’s exceptional, like watching a rainbow.”

– Becky Beasley in an article for Hastings Independent Press
