She will also talk about why crypto-currencies have a terrible reputation and outline potential mitigators to these problems. \n\n\n\nSherry Clark will talk about the value of time-banks\, how they work and why they are important\, based on three local initiatives where time-credits are being used to recognise and sustain contributions to the common good: Tidy Up St Leonards\, Gardening Our Streets and the new Learning to Grow alliance. \n\n\n\nCam Smith will talk about a thought revolution blossoming from mycology (the study of fungi)\, inspiring his Sylvan Roots Mentorship Programme . In 2020 and 2021\, we adapted to the lockdowns and showed the films on YouTube. Now we are back to normal – register at the Observer building on Saturday October 21st and get filming! DESCRIPTION:‘Silver’ – Celebrating 25 years of Purdy Glass & Mirror Designs \n\n\n\nLocal decorative mirror and glass designer Alison Purdy is celebrating 25 years in business this month with an exhibition and pop up shop in the newly refurbished Observer Building in Cambridge Road\, Hastings. \n\n\n\nAlison is well known for her instantly recognisable mirrors and windows featuring elements from our local landscape and architecture – the beach\, fishing boats\, pier\, cheeky seagulls and iconic net shops. \n\n\n\nWhen you come along to the exhibition\, you will see a collection of colourful mirrors in a range of different designs to suit all homes\, tastes and budgets. All are handmade here in Hastings using a contemporary leaded glass technique coupled with illustrated and photographic elements and other materials. \n\n\n\nThe exhibition is open at the following times… \n\n\n\nFri 29th Sept 1-6\, Sat 30th 11-5\, Sun 1st Oct 12-4\, Mon 2nd 12-4\, Tues 3rd 12-4. \n\n\n\nEntry is free.
