Access Guide
The Observer Building aims to be fully accessible to support your visit to the building whether coworking or attending events.
Arriving at the Observer Building
The Observer Building has two way access to the main entrance on Cambridge Road. This is either up four steps with one handrail or via a sloped ramp with a handrail. The public pavement just before the ramp is uneven but it is possible to turn into the ramp if coming up Cambridge Road. Coming down Cambridge Road is easier. The ramp is sturdy and permanent. In early 2024, the scaffolding around the ramped entrance will be removed making access slightly easier.
If you are arriving by car, please note that there are double yellow lines on Cambridge Road directly outside the building. The nearest parking is directly opposite the building on Cornwallis Gardens, or outside ESK on Cambridge Road. The nearest car park is Priory Street Multi Storey Car Park approx. 500 metres from the Observer Building.
Level access is also available via Claremont where you can access the building via The Alley and through the doors (and past 1066 CrossFit Gym). There is a lift which will take you to the Mezzanine floor, the Ground Floor (where events are held) and the 1st floor (where private offices, the meeting room and co-working is located).
The main doors open automatically into the building and the lift has accessible controls.
Accessible toilets
There are two unisex accessible toilets in the Ground Floor Event Space and they have emergency call buttons.
There is also a unisex accessible toilet on the Alley level.
There is a unisex accessible toilet on the 1st floor of the rentable office/co working area.
Hearing Enhancement
Please note we currently do not have any sound enhancement in any of our spaces but this is a future consideration.
