Hasting Book Festival Workshop – Kiss like two fish: the art of the short story

This dynamic three-hour workshop led by James Young will explore the craft and wonder of short story writing. Through lively discussion, writing exercises designed to challenge and inspire, and the close reading of exciting, innovative example stories, the workshop will examine how elements such as voice, openings and endings, ellipticism and ambiguity can create a kind of magic that makes us, as George Saunders has said, ‘a little more aware and a little more in love with the world’.
