Hastings Book Festival – Helen Lederer – Not that I’m Bitter

Helen Lederer is a writer, comedian and actress of enormous range, probably best known for playing ‘Catriona’ in Absolutely Fabulous, and with a resume that takes in television (‘Bottom’, ‘Hollyoaks’ and ‘Miss Marple’) radio ( Life with Lederer, the News Quiz and Just a Minute) and text. Her novel Losing It was nominated for the P G Wodehouse Prize and she set up the Comedy Women in Print prize to celebrate witty writing by women. 

Her memoir, Not That I’m Bitter, a TIMES RADIO Book of the Year, outlines her journey from being what her mother called a “show off” to reaching the top and becoming a trail blazer in the male dominated world of alternative comedy.
